About Captiva Island on Florida's Gulf Coast

Captiva is a barrier island on the gulf coast of South West Florida. It is connected to Sanibel Island by a small bridge at Blind Pass, and Sanibel is connected to Fort Myers by a causeway.

Captiva is thin and long, and has a white sandy beach shore on the Gulf of Mexico side, and a protected mangrove shoreline on the Pine Island Sound side.
